Counsellor Directory

This innovative membership service serves to promote business information about your counselling practice, specialized services and skills as well as the ability to upload a profile picture and business logo. With futurist trends heading towards a generation that seeks information online as well as a specific set of skills, knowledge and experience, the CPCA believes this directory will provide a competitive edge for marketing our member's counselling services across Canada to the public, insurance providers, EAP contractors and government for verification of your legitimacy. All members who are in "good standing" will be approved to list their contact information in the directory on an annual basis. It allows our members to login to their directory listing once it has been approved and make any changes to their contact information.

Description

Hello, I’m Sharon, a therapist with over 40 years of personal experience in navigating and managing my own trauma. I believe that while we may not be able to completely "cure" our trauma, we can certainly adapt and grow from it. There have been times in my life when giving up felt like the easier option, but choosing to persevere has led me to where I am today, and for that, I am truly grateful. I love life, even though I face challenging days like everyone else.
I utilize practices such as meditation, mindfulness, and a balanced approach to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support you in overcoming obstacles. Allow you to be congruent or aligned with yourself. I will be there with you in your pain, allowing you to grieve. And when you're ready, I will remind you that you deserve better and help you reach for it. We can even sit in that if the good is hard to feel as well. I will meet you where you are in a person-centred approach tailored to you.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over six years as a construction site superintendent. After returning to school and graduating with academic distinction, I bring my life experiences and a deep understanding of the importance of safety to our work together. My goal is to help clients become more aligned with their true selves, fostering a state of flow that enhances both emotional intelligence and maturity. I provide a nurturing space for growth, emphasizing that understanding our emotions is distinct from controlling them.
Let’s embark on this journey together. I find joy in witnessing individuals harness their strength from the pain they have endured and achieve remarkable things. I look forward to seeing what life/the journey has in store for my clients.
